More information about the video content bellow: 1. Taiwan, officially the Republic of China (ROC), is a democratic state in East Asia. Taiwan is the most populous state that is not a member of the United Nations, and also possesses the largest economy of any state outside of the UN. 2. Following the Japanese surrender to the Allies in 1945, the ROC took control of Taiwan. However, the resumption of the Chinese Civil War led to the ROC's loss of the mainland to the Communists, and the flight of the ROC government to Taiwan in 1949. 3. Although the ROC continued to claim to be the legitimate government of China, its effective jurisdiction has since the loss of Hainan in 1950 been limited to Taiwan and its surrounding islands, with the main island making up 99% of its de facto territory. As a founding member of the United Nations, the ROC continued to represent China at the United Nations until 1971, when the PRC assumed China's seat, causing the ROC to lose its UN membership. 4. In Taiwan there are 14 recognised aboriginal tribes. Together they make up 1.8% of the country's population. It is estimated that aboriginals had been living in the country for 8,000 years before mass immigration by the Han Chinese commenced in the 17th century. 5. Taiwan is the 22nd-largest economy in the world, and its high-tech industry plays a key role in the global economy. It is ranked highly in terms of freedom of the press, healthcare, public education, economic freedom, and human development. The country benefits from a highly skilled workforce and is among the most highly educated countries in the world with one of the highest percentages of its citizens holding a tertiary education degree. 6. Taipei, officially known as Taipei City, is the capital city and a special municipality of Taiwan. Taipei is home to various world-famous architectural or cultural landmarks which include Taipei 101, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Dalongdong Baoan Temple, Hsing Tian Kong, Lungshan Temple of Manka, National Palace Museum, Presidential Office Building, Taipei Guest House, Ximending, and several night markets dispersing over the city. 7. Taiwan has an area of 39167 square km. That’s about the size of Moldova. But there are over 23.5 million people living in the country, making Taiwan one of the most densely populated countries on Earth. I try to see the world as much as I possibly can. I’m a writer and a yoga instructor and I think a great life is one that is filled with countless journeys. Some Facts About Me as a Traveler: * I prefer rolling luggages over backpacks * If I can go to city with just my sandals for footwear, I would prefer that because that would mean I don’t have to carry socks with me. * I always bring power extension cords whenever I travel. * I always have problems sticking to my budget when I’m traveling. * The worst thing that happened to me while traveling so far was when I was held by the immigration officers in Paris. I made a mistake in my visa application and I actually overstayed in France. But all is well, they did let me go. And they were very nice to me. They even offered me cookies.

Today, I’m taking you on a big adventure I’m starting out by leaving the house right now I’m going to walk to the brown line, which is close to my house like a 10-15 minute walk then from there I’m going to take the metro down to Taipower Building there are a lot of interesting restaurants around there, that I want to take you to so I’m just going to walk around randomly and find a place to go to and from there I’m going to bring the takeout meal to a park to eat It should be a pretty interesting adventure, I know it sounds kind of ordinary but I want to take you guys with me! let’s just see what happens, I have no idea what’s going to happen all I know is that it’s really hot outside, so let’s go! The reason I’m walking to the brown line instead of taking the metro is simply because I hate transferring to get to the brown line from my apartment I would need to transfer twice which doesn’t necessarily take that long, but I’d rather not it’s also just simply a nice day to go on a walk after saying good morning to my good friend I continue the adventure usually when I eat out I will just go to places nearby, but since this city is so easy to get around it can be a lot of fun to roam far away, I’m curious to see what I’ll be able to find one of the things I love about Taipei are its sidewalks, there is usually so much space, and since the city is designed in a grid it’s possible to get around entirely by walking alone The weather today is a lot better than I thought it would be it’s like 96 degrees Fahrenheit, but because It’s windy it’s not too bad though the humidity is still killing me but we’re almost to the station, which is the good part I’m finally close to the station, it took a lot less time than I expected but I’m still happy to replace the humidity outside with the AC indoors the brown line has to be my favorite of the mrt it was the first one ever built, and gives you a really unique perspective of Taipei the train arrives and I hop on in just a few moments, I’ve reached my stop so I just got to the station, technology building I still have no idea where I’m going to go to get lunch I’m going to go like… That direction because theres a University around there, so there should be a lot of restaurants so.. yeah, I don’t know I take a few more moments to watch the city moving from above before diving below I head outside and begin to explore I think I might actually try a Cantonese restaurant nearby, that my friend told me a lot about apparently the owner is from Hong Kong and really friendly It’s just down the street I actually used to live right in this area, when I first moved to Taipei it’s a relatively expensive area, but at the time I had 6 other flatmates I slowly find my way to the place in this area there are actually quite a lot of restaurants that look terrific but right now I’ve only got one in mind. after getting slightly lost for a moment and walking past the place I finally find it the whole thing is 205 NTD, which is really cheap considering it will be my lunch and dinner after paying, he offered me something I didn’t expect I’m guessing that both entrees get two soups each but either way it’s a lot more than I expected I decide to get two warm soups and two cold soups then I wait beside the kitchen while they cook my meal I take my order and head out across the street, I buy a cold milktea, to help me battle the rising heat Ok, so I got the food and I’m going to the park I can’t help but feel like it might be too much so I don’t know what I’m going to do with it, but I’m going to try everything as I make my way to Da’an park, the heat becomes ridiculous I need a quick 7/11 AC break thats a lot better I’m nearly to the park, just one more timelapse away finally here, taiwan, beef noodle, taiwanese beef noodle, taiwan beed noodle, beef, noodle, taiwanese, food, street food, luke martin, taiwanese food, taiwanese street food, taiwan food, street food taiwan, hong kong, hong kong food, what to eat in taiwan, what to eat in hong kong, hong kong street food, adventure, vlog, taipei food, logandbeck, food vlog, travel, travel hong kong, travel taiwan, food travel, cuisine, taiwan restaurant, soup, food, foodie, animation, hongkong, taiwanese restaurant, asia
